Dating…What is that?

No,
really. Is that a thing? How do dating, teenage hormones and Jesus all come
together?
For
us girls, finding decent men is already hard enough, but wading through the
male gender to find ones with the good spiritual values can be quite difficult
indeed. Good places to check are the library or on a community project, but an
even better place is at church or at youth group. Don’t get this wrong, the
purpose of going to church on Sundays is definitely not for ogling the other gender. As a looser gathering of just
teens, youth group is a great time to get to know people. However, it is
important to understand that your guy is consistent, has spiritual values, and
loves Jesus as much as you do.
Here
are some things to keep in mind, for guys and girls!
Good qualities to look for in a guy:
-He dresses well, especially
at church. This usually means he’s clean, too.
-He talks about culture.
àEither he knows his movies or literature or astronomic
achievements of the 20th century—but he is intelligent and cultured.
-He’s easy to talk to, and
the conversation just keeps going.
àIf you realize you both have the same spiritual and
moral values, you’re bound to have something else to talk about. Yes, there are
people who are just naturally easy to converse with, but you might soon realize
that you just can’t stop talking to this person!
Tips for Girls:
-Be confident. Initiate and
just keep talking (even when things might get slightly awkward.)
-Don’t give yourself away
immediately. There’s no need to get personal until you understand this is
someone you can trust. This holds true for new friends as well.
