Allison's Bio



Allison J. Bundy Travis

Allison is a professional educator, presenter, and author.  She was born and raised in Poughkeepsie, New York where she currently resides.  She has over 16 years of experience as a public school teacher.  Allison is a graduate of Spelman College in Atlanta, Georgia where she obtained her B.A. in Political Science. She is a graduate of Marist College in Poughkeepsie, NY where she obtained her M.A. in Educational Psychology.

Allison began her training as a Teach for America corps member in Washington DC where she taught second grade.  Later, she taught seventh and eighth grade English and U.S. History in Upper Marlboro, MD. There, she held the position of Social Studies Department Chairperson.  Upon her return to Poughkeepsie, New York, Allison has coached Modified Field Hockey.  She is currently teaching sixth grade and has done so for the past 13 years.

Allison has held positions such as Team Leader and New Teacher Mentor.  She has organized student conferences and workshops for her school district.  In addition, Allison is a Hudson Valley Writing Fellow and has presented workshops for “The Live Your Dream” Girls’ Conferences sponsored by the American Association of University Women held at Dutchess Community College. She has also worked as an adjunct professor for Marist College.

Through her love of God’s word, Allison has completed the following Christian education classes at her church: New Member’s Orientation, Forty Days of Purpose, Financial Stewardship, Discipleship, and Evangelism.  Allison is a member of the Evangelism and Praise Dance Ministries.  It is her goal to be obedient to God by continuing to write to give him the glory and to spread his word.
